Sunny Side Up

My sister, Josh and I took my parents to the Bay Voyage Inn in Jamestown for brunch. We were making up for not having brunch on Mother's day and Father's Day.
It was so beautiful down there - we sat outside on the porch overlooking the bay. We were watching all the sailboats and the small communtor ferry that was going back and forth to Newport.
We felt slightly snobbish sitting out there drinking mimosa and bloody mary's...
The food was to die for - anything you could possibly think of was out on this buffet. They had stations set of cold things like fruit and cheese platters and salmon and petifores and cakes and cookies, a station for hot stuff with eggs benedict, bacon and sausage, scrambled eggs, homefries, pasta, chicken and pork, another station with a guy who was making omletes that also had waffles, french toast, bananas foster, whip cream, strawberries and blueberries, and a ham and prime rib thrown in for good measure.
Needless to say we had like the Kings and Queens we truly are.
After brunch we headed down to Beaver Tail and played in the tide pools. We got some great pictures and as soon as my sister sends them I'll put them up for you to see.

Culprit: Lulu - aka Little Lu - aka She-Devil

Crime: Jumping willy nilly to the top of a rocking chair causing it to tip over while owner looks on in horror. Owner jumps up to save said rocking chair and dumps over a full glass of water onto herself and pretty blue couch. Owner is not happy.

It's Colleague Appreciate Week at work - I love this week because we can wear jeans and sneakers to work, which means no ironing in the a.m.
So I get to work and I proceed immediately to the cafe to watch the talent(less) show. I have to give some props to a couple of the singers as they did a great job... but the others, well... not so much. Right at the beginning of the last act the fire alarm started going off - what a hoot!
Then towards lunch time I decided to finally give the Hula-Hoop contest a go... yeah, I now know that my hips just aren't coordinated enough to Hula. However, my neck did a damn fine job!
After I Hula'ed my neck raw I decided to go play Wii in the conference room with Brian. We played Tennis, Baseball and Bowling. I suck at Baseball (except I was doing alright pitching), I sucked at bowling until I figured out that to correct my curve ball I could move the Mii over and then I was rocking out, and I did fairly decent at Tennis.
I wish every week could be CAW!!

Ok, I admit it. I apparently have an addiction to QVC.
Here's how I know.
My alarm clock goes off at 6:00 a.m. I turn the alarm off andI turn the TV on. I listen/watch QVC while I wake up.
My exercise bike is in front of my computer. I discovered that QVC has a live broadcast online - therefore I watch it while I’m on the bike.
I've order a few things...
JUST A FEW I SWEAR!
However - I now have a QVC Wish List.
(Feel free to buy me whatever you feel I deserve for being such a decent citizen).
While I get ready for bed - QVC is on.

Alright then, I"m off to bed.  I'm currently engrossed in a new author - Janet Evanovich.  Her Stephanie Plum novels are a hoot and I want to read some before I fall asleep.

Kittens = minions of the demon lord!

I'm taking a tiny piece of the blame for this incident... I put a brand new bottle of OPI Lincoln Park After Dark (deep dark purple) on my high top kitchen table. I went to have my dinner in the living room - 'cause god forbid I eat at the kitchen table - when I hear this rolling sound and then this crash! I knew - I just knew what I was going to find when I went into the kitchen. Two very guilty looking kittens sitting on my kitchen table (WHERE THEY DON'T BELONG AND THEY KNOW IT!) and a very broken bottle of deep dark purple nail polish on my tile floor and all of the wall. I quickly scoop the kittens up and shut them in the spare room. I was so afraid to use nail polish remover on the wall because I didn't want to strip the paint so I used Kaboom Easy Off cleaner. It came off the tiles pretty good - I can still see it though, especially in the grout; however I can't get it off my walls. Goddamn OPI and its incredibly good quick dry formula!! Needless to say, I think I'm going to have to paint my wall...

If anyone has any suggestions as to how to remove nail polish I'd appreciate it.
I think I need a new kitten icon... One showing two little demons looking to cause me grief.

Anyway - I'm going to New Orleans! I'm leaving tomorrow night and I'll be back Monday night! ^__^

I got up yesterday morning bleary eyed as always and made my way carefully to the bathroom - carefully because the kittens like to tangle themselves in my legs while I walk <~~~ not really a good idea first thing in the morning when I can barely see.

So I find myself sitting down on the pot and all of a sudden Lucky comes running in like a bat out of hell, grabs the end of the toilet paper roll and runs out of the bathroom lickity split. I was sitting there in mid stream watching in shock as the toilet paper was being pulled down the hall! I reached over to stop the steadily disappearing toilet paper and heard this loud "CRACK!" and then I felt the toilet seat pinching my ass. Oh dear god!

After I composed myself I figured I'd do some laundry. I opened my closet to get the dirty clothes out and was filling my basket when I noticed Lulu was trying to climb the central air bag pipe thing (the big silver thing that puts the air into the house). I can just imagine how much that would cost me to replace if her claws punctured that...

Well... everyone else was doing this, so why not I...  
(and yes, I am the type to jump off a bridge if everyone else is going it to... cause it could be fun :P)

I took Lucky and Lulu for their second vet visit today.
Thanks goodness they both tested negative for Feline Aids and Leukemia.  
However...
I showed the vet how "cute" Lulu looks when she walks towards you because she's bow legged.  I should have known that her being bow legged wasn't a good thing...  The vet felt her shoulders first and then moved to her elbows and ankles.  The vet told me that her right elbow was twice the size of her left which was causing her leg to bow.  She went onto say that even kittens could get tumors and she would need to get an X-Ray for her to determine what was wrong.  At this point, I feel so bad because I thought her bow was "cute"....  
It turns out that her elbow either broke when she was very small (like how small - I don’t know because she's only 2 1/2 months old!) or it's a birth defect.  The joint itself is deformed and there really isn't anything to do at this point.  The vet told me that Lulu has 95% movement at this point and she doesn't seem to be bothered by it.  She said that Lulu would most likely develop arthritis and worse case scenario would be that the leg doesn't grow.  If the leg doesn’t grow and it gets more deformed then they may have to amputate her leg.

A few of you asked about Rascal so here is the long sad story.

I went to the Barnes and Noble mid-night party to pick up my reserved copies this year. I didn't go the previous years that they had it but I figured "what the hell, this is the last book, you might as well go."

I was so scared that some little twerp would drive by shouting out book spoilers... have you all seen the video on youtube where this kid in his mom's minivan drives by the line and shouts out the window the spoiler in the last book? It's actually pretty funny now... but at the time it was just sooooo wrong, I felt bad for those people on the curb.

I was so exited when I got home that I started reading right away (I had planned an all nighter with my book). My all night reading was cut short in the middle of chapter two when I fell asleep... That's what will happen when you get up at 4:45 a.m. to go to work in the morning... 2:30 a.m. rolls around and sleep just wants to claim you. Ah well - I've got all day today to read.

What are your favorite and least favorite words? Any reasons why?

I love to say the word "Ointment". You're all going to think I'm strange but I love the feeling of that word coming out of my mouth. I'm sitting here saying it and laughing like a lunatic ^__^

I can't think of any word that I "hate"... I know there are word's then when said sends shivers up my spine... like "scab". *shudders*

I'm sitting here wanted to start typing, but my happy high hasn't gone away yet and its preventing my brain from functioning properly.... please excuse me while I continue to squee with happiness!

Ok....

Well, the first thing I did today was see the new Transformers movie with my sister, Josh, Josh's brother Phil and his girlfriend. The movie was AMAZING!!!! I can't believe the effects in this film. I really hope Steven Spielberg decides to make a trilogy out of it <~~~~~ I've heard that if this movie does well that a trilogy might come out of it.

The second thing was... BIG BROTHER 8!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm on the live feed even as I type this. Of course they've got it all block out and the music playing currently so I can't see what's happening... damn them! I know it's because it hasn't premiered in CA yet, this happens every Thursday when the shows go live. The East has to wait for the West show to come on before they put the feed back up. Annoying, but yet.... I still pay for this.

This morning was like any other.... except that I was running on time!
I jumped in the shower, got dressed, put mouse and volumizing spray in my hair and then started to blow dry.
That's when the sparks started to fly - literally. They were shooting out of my hair dryer... which was aimed at my product soaked head! PANIC ENSUES!
I unplugged the thing and thought that maybe something had gotten in there so there I am shaking the thing over the sink. Nothing fell out of it so stupid me decides that maybe it was a fluke thing so I plug it back in to see what it would do... MORE AMAZING BLUE SPARKS!!
Ok... I was done. Hair went into a clip.
Then I set the smoke detector off while toasting my English muffin.
BUT I WAS ON TIME TO WORK!!!

Last Thursday I took my friend Jess to her doctor's appointment. I got to hear the baby's heartbeat - it was so amazing!
Tonight I went with her and Jimmy to the ultrasound appointment - and I was floored! OMG, this 3D machine was amazing. I could see the baby's little lips and nose! He was sucking on his fingers at one point - so cute!
The girl that was doing the ultrasound said that everything looked good and healthy!!!!
She's due on July 9th, but we all think she's going to go sooner. The doctor's already got her on bed rest because she went into premature labor but the medication helped stop them thank god!
Jess is so tiny; the poor little baby doesn't have much room to move around anymore.

I finally took pictures this week. These pictures will also serve as proof to my home owners insurance that I have the goods that I say I have... let's just hope that nothing happens where I have to make any claims!

I invited my friend Heather over for a girls night tonight, so when the doorbell rang I thought it was her. To my surprise it was this cute guy... and a girl. I was a little flustered (by the cute guy on my doorstep) because I expected Heather... I stepped outside and shut my door because I didn't want Rascal to try and escape (something that wouldn't happen if the condo association would approve my request for a storm door!). The cute guy (at first glance) started telling me that he was trying to win a competition and he was selling magazine subscriptions. So I listened to hime and looked at his pamphlet. His prices were actually pretty decent and the orders were for three years of the magazines, so I was totally sold. In the meantime, Heather pulls up in her car. Now we're all talking while I fill out the paperwork. I turn to go back inside the house to get my checkbook... I can't get in. STUPID IDIOT, you locked the door behind you!!!!!!
Now I just want you to know how stupid I really am... I have to turn the lock on my way out of the house ... it is NOT one of those auto locks... SO I REALLY LOCKED MYSELF OUT! *facepalm*
Want to know what I brought outside with me - and no, it wasn't my keys... My cell phone! So here I am with the cute guy (who btw wasn't that cute after he opened his mouth and his teeth were all black around the gum lines *shudders*), his "girl", and Heather standing at my very locked front door contemplating how the hell I was going to get back in. LIGHTBULB! I gave Mom a key to my house when I moved in here... I have my cell phone... CALL MOM! No answer at home... got her on her cell phone. She's at the Christmas Tree Shop and will come and rescue me as soon as she can - bless her soul! So cute guy with the bad teeth, his girl, Heather and I had a lovely conversation about Children of the Corn and the state of Nebraska. *shrugs* I'm never going to live this one down with my family....

How do I know - I'm Portuguese that's how but 3 quarters of me goes to the French.
Now as every good Portuguese girl should, I like Chourico.
BUT NOT WHEN MY ENTIRE CONDO SMELLS LIKE IT WHEN I'M NOT THE ONE COOKING IT!!!!
I'm going to kill my neighbors - this is like the fourth time they've tried to stink me out of my house since I moved in.

In an outline format.

1. Water Bill
a. Not mine, thank god. Turns out there are only five water meters on the property so the five bills gets paid for by the condo association.
b. The bill was changed due to a screw up at my closing attorney’s office - moron's.

2. Kid's Play
a. Cinderella - totally adorable.
i. Ben and Jake were frogs along with the other boys in their class. The fifth grade girls were lily pads. (I couldn't figure out how they tied into the play other then a filler...)
ii. Abigail and her class were pumpkins.
b. St. Joe's school puts on a production every hear. Last few shows have been pretty painful to sit through.

3. My vacation this week.
a. Last vacation my team attempted to mutiny
i. I'm a little concerned about what's going to happen this week >_<
b. Saw Georgia Rule with Jen
i. We both loved it a lot but I can kind of see why it got stinky reviews. The previews played it off as kind of light hearted and it kind of wasn't. There was a lot of vulgarity in it, and revolved around sexual abuse.
iii. When the first "Go f*ck yourself" line was delivered there was a collective gasp from all the Q-tips in the theater.
iv. Q-tips nearly had a stroke when the word "bonner" popped up <--- popped up, I kill myself! ^__^
c. I plan on...
i. Seeing Pirates opening night
ii. Changing over closets to my summer stuff
iii. Watching everything taped on my DVR and all the DVDs that I've bought and haven't watched yet.
